Client: Netzwerkbahn Sachsen (NeS)
Locomotives: 2X Stadler EuroDual, 2X VRS DE18
Responsibilities: Automotive Styling
Designers: Simon Wijnakker and Bastian Vogelvanger
Now that’s how you make an entrance! Never had a custom livery before? No worries—we’ve got you covered. That’s exactly what Netzwerkbahn Sachsen (NeS) asked us to do: create a striking livery from the ground up. The result? A bold and versatile design guaranteed to turn heads.
The first locomotive to showcase this new look was the ELP EuroDual 2159 246, delivered to NeS in 2023. It instantly solidified the company’s presence on Europe’s rail network. The design most notably features two large pivoted crosses on either end of the locomotive.
In 2024, a second EuroDual, 2159 261, joined the fleet—but with a twist. Instead of blue, it featured a sleek gray-based color scheme, demonstrating just how adaptable the design is to future client needs.
Olivia & Karlotta
A different locomotive? No problem. In 2024, we adapted the EuroDual-based design for two VRS DE18 locomotives—an exciting challenge since mid-cab locomotives differ significantly from the EuroDual. By maintaining the signature design language, we seamlessly transferred the look while meeting project constraints. The result: one blue variant, ‘Olivia,’ and a gray version, ‘Karlotta.’
